Why so emo, iPhone?

My iPhone just attempted to commit suicide by sneakily leaping from my jeans pocket to the dishwasher. I thought I felt something pulling at my jeans, accompanied by a slightly odd noise from the dishwasher, so I went to check my pocket, and -- yup, no iPhone! It had lodged itself on the top rack of the dishwasher. Good thing I noticed! My warranty has been over for ages, and anyway, I don't think "having been dishwashed" counts as a reason for free replacement.

Healthwise, I've actually felt a good deal better all day, but I'm sure it'll be the same old crap tomorrow morning, so I'm definitely keeping that appointment with my GI doc.

One of my HP newsletter comms linked to Dramione comm post about the best D/Hr fanfic quotes. Out of (morbid?) curiosity, I decided to see what was there and was pleasantly surprised, especially at the good writing and humor in some of them (some, not all!). And that made me think about how it can really pay to read fic whose basic premises aren't along the lines of your usual preferences, because good writing exists in places you wouldn't expect. I just wish I had more time for it all.
