BPAL Wishlist
Flist, feel free to ignore this post. I just need to get a BPAL wishlist up, since people keep asking me and I'm tired of going all ghetto by posting my c/ped notes from Word into an LJ comment.

General:
Notes I like: grapefruit, vanilla, grass/dandelions, carnation, sugary musks (like Smut and Dorian), light/airy scents, apple (fresh apples and cider, but not so much apple blossom), Asian scents (like Aizen-Myoo and Holiday Moon), tea, ginger, foody (although not as much since my pregnancy -- apparently, my hormones are looking out for my bank account), white musk, sunflower, amber as long as it doesn't go powdery (blonde amber, as in Berenice, seems to be a real winner here, and the Nepalese amber in L'Estate is wonderful as well)

Favorite scents: Hungry Ghost Moon, Berenice, L'Estate, La Primavera, L'Autunno, Snow White, Smut, Morocco, Dorian, Aizen-Myoo, Holiday Moon, Kindly Moon, Empyreal Mist, Pink Moon 2007, Budding Moon, Harvest Moon (all vintages), NIFSA: Ebisu Making Love as Two Octopuses Look On, Creepy, Snow Glass Apples, Midway, The Crumpet Rebellion

Dislikes: patchouli, vetiver, most lavender scents, most wood scents, earthy/dark/dirty scents, smoke, myrrh (unless it’s just hiding in the background), heavy florals, heavy scents in general, aquatics, lemon/lime/verbena as the predominant note (I amp these like crazy and end up with a wristful of Lemon Pledge), jasmine and gardenia (most of the time), very dry and/or hot scents

You're welcome to sniff it when you come here in January! :)

LMAO! That just sounds... wrong. LOL

I believe I was suppose to check out your BPAL when I was there in Sept, too. ;)

Anyway, there's a reason I was so amused with the idea of Woobie. There's a group of us on The Fuselage that have come to refer to Locke as the Woobie. LOL

Late reply is late. >>

Well, since I'm having a LOST party at my house when you'll be here in January, you can definitely have a sniff then! My collection is sort of large.... :P

Ah yes, I've heard "woobie" attached to all sorts of fictional characters. Even Severus Snape. o.O

After a while all of them will start smelling the same. lol

I can't say I'd ever connect woobie to Snape. Alan Rickman, yes.

That's why you sniff coffee beans after a while -- clears the...olfactory version of the palate. But yeah, after smelling enough, it gets sort of jading (which I know is not a word, but I'm going to use it anyway, nyah!).

YES. THIS. And that's exactly the problem: Most of those people seem to be convinced that the two are one and the same. *sigh*

Coffee beans. I hadn't heard of that but it makes sense. The thing is, have to put the perfume on before I can get the full affect and after a while you smell like a whore house. LOL

I can vouch for a fact that AR is NOTHING like SS. How? I've met him! Hee!

Well, this is true: Because BPAL is a perfume oil, it tends to smell different on different people, depending on skin chemistry and other factors, so you do need to try it on to get an accurate idea of what it's like on you. But (a) there is no way you'd manage to try on all the scents I have (not enough skin space -- my collection is rather scary!), and (b) oh, no, you wouldn't smell like a whorehouse...you'd smell like ABSOLUTE CRAP! I've tried on too much BPAL at once before. It's wretched!!!

Ooh, how's you meet Alan Rickman?

Edited because that so was not the icon I had meant to use. Fixed!

I have tried on loads before, actually. If there's a way I could remove the oils and reapply, then I could do more. lol But it's not only the oils, it's any perfume. I need to smell it on me.

I saw AR in NYC when he was in Private Lives on Broadway in 2002. After the show he came out and met all the fans. Very gracious and sincere person.

That other icon was a bit disturbing!

Haha, yeah, I could watch the two of them say, "Wicked!" over and over. It's mesmerizing as well!
