Fanfic recc meme
Ganked from gunderpants:

Rec-Go-Round: Rec me one story you've written (preferably HP fan fiction, but if you've not written any fanfic, then you can recc an original piece instead) that you're proud of, any genre, here on my LJ.

Then go forth and ask the same in yours.

I know I want to read more of my flist peeps' stories, so this is a good way to get started.

And to make this slightly pimptastic, I'll start by reccing to y'alls the piece I'm most proud of, which is my Sirius-centric WIP "Yellow" (starting here on LJ or here on Sugar Quill). I know some of you have already read it, but in case you haven't, I'm reccing it here. *picks up pimp cane and waits for your reccs*
Current Location: Procrastination Junction
Current Mood: lazylazy
Current Music: "Yellow," by Coldplay

Well, I've already shamelessly plugged Rowena's Quill to you several times, but I don't mind doing it again.

What do I do now? Do I wait to read whatever else comes up on this thread?

Well, you can, but what you're really supposed to do next is make your own post with the meme, so that all the people on your flist can recc their stuff to you.

Meanwhile, all of my flist's stuff will accumulate here for me, but you're more than welcome to keep checking the thread to get some reccs from my flist. That's what I'm gonna do with gunderpants's posting of this meme.

Okay, I did it, but I left out the HP fanfic bit because my flist is rather a mixed group.

Perhaps I plug Asking for Roses to you kressel, and wait for something to be rec'd to me?

Oh, sorry, I didn't realize the directions were confusing. See my clarification to kressel.

And thanks for the recc for "Asking for Roses"! I'll add it to my list.

Just seen it - I get it now *headdesk*

I really enjoyed your first two chapters. You've created quite an interesting conflict for Hannah; I don't think I've read much about a witch who wants to quit. And I loved the garden that Neville brought her to, especially the historical angle. Let me know when you update.

Thanks for reading! I'm really glad you enjoyed it - I'll be posting ch3 this coming weekend :)

Thanks. I update mine on Sundays, too, but I'll be skipping Sunday, April 16 for Passover.

I think you'll like it, seeing as you're a Neville fan. It's a multi-gen story and I haven't gotten up to him yet, but he'll figure in pretty big in the end.

I'm printing yours out right now! My story is Rowena's Quill. I hope you enjoy! Reviews are very welcome!

I would suggest When in Rome, some Remus-centric time travel Marauders-era gen I cooked up for a challenge a few months back.

Since you seem to be a fan of the...shall we say more random type of stories, may I rec my Harry Potter/ Monty Python kinda sorta not really crossover? Features Hermione weighing the same as a duck.

Witnessings and Warnings is my favorite that I recommend. It's sequel Consequences is the one I'm most proud of.

I hope you might appreciate this one since it is Sirius centric. It's an AU called Raising Sirius in which Sirius is able to get to Harry and convince Dumbledore to keep him. It can be found here: http://www.sugarquill.net/index.php?action=profile&id=1059

Ooh, I've seen that around on the Quill. (Did I know that you're Vala on SQ? I'm trying to remember....) Most definitely will check it out--I mean, SIRIUSSIRIUSSIRIUS! :) I think Birgit (my beta) is writing something along a similar vein, BTW.

The basic premise is similar I hear (I don't want to read hers until I'm farther in so that I don't accidentally plagiarise or feel bad about myself and give up because she's just awesome). Though I've also heard there are some pretty big differences. I wouldn't know so I hope it's not too close to it.

Oh, I've totally done the same thing. Someone (I forget who) is writing a story called "Marauders Redux" that seems to cover a lot of the biggie Marauders-era events (e.g., the Prank, whether James and Sirius really did take off Snivelly's pants), and while it looks awesome, I totally don't want to read it and then accidentally plagiarize.

I'll read yours and Birgit's and then reassure you that they're nothing alike. :)
