LJ Interests Meme

LJ Interests Meme for Miss Sophia

  1. burninating:
It's what you do to the countryside, the peasants, and all the peoples in their THATCHED ROOF COTTAGES!
  2. coldplay:
One of the best bands EVAR, with dreamy lyrics, lovely instrumentation, and haunting vocals. The inspiration for much of my writing, especially my HP fanfic. AND I'M GOING TO SEE THEM ON APRIL 3 - TEH YAYS! Must-listen songs: "Yellow", "Till Kingdom Come", "Fix You", "Swallowed in the Sea", "The Scientist", "Clocks".
  3. death cab for cutie:
A band that I ignored for the longest time, mainly because of the hype. I'm a dumbass. Their lyrics just stab you in the heart. For example: "I won't join the procession that's speaking their peace/using five dollar words while praising his integrity/Just 'cause he's gone, it doesn't change that fact/he was bastard in life, thus a bastard in death, YEAH" (from "Styrofoam Plates"). *emo tear*
  4. franz ferdinand:
Another kickass band whose name kept popping up in Entertainment Weekly and I kept ignoring. Why can I never be an early adopter? "Take Me Out" is a good choice if you want to rock out. "Michael" is great for fangirling over teh gay. And "40 Ft" is great if you want to pretend you're Phoebe from Friends: "La la la laaaa la la la laaaa la la la la la la la laaaaaa"!
  5. homestar runner:
Aw wight! Homestar Runner is a ROXIN' Web cartoon. I'm proud to say that I actually am a fairly early adopter on that one, as I became a fan waaaay back in like 2002 or something like that.
  6. literature:
Butterfly in the sky, I can go twice as high
Take a look, it's in a book - Reading Rainbow.
    I can go anywhere!
Friends to know and ways to grow - Reading Rainbow.
    I can be anything!
Take a look, it's in a book - Reading Rainbow.
Reading Rainbow, Reading Rainbow, Reading Rainbow, Reading Rainbow!
  7. reading:
    See "literature".
  8. singing:
Whether it's with a choir, my a cappella group, my trio, or my nekkid self in the shower, I love to sing. I've got a trained, opera/showtunes type of voice, which means I suck at most pop...but that doesn't stop me from jamming out whenever the music flows.
  9. strong bad:
Is awesome. Is a hit with the ladies. Has a The Cheat. Is the best part about HomestarRunner.com
  10. teen girl squad:
They're teenage girls between the ages of thirteen and nineteen! Cheerleader (coiffed updo!)! So-and-so ('80s bangs!)! What's-her-face (dandruff and lice!)! The Ugly One (alopecia!)! Let's get ready to LOOK SO GOOD!
  11. the marauders:
Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot, and Prongs. (Dammit...fighting the urge to write a Marauders/Teen Girl Squad crack!fic! Thanks, LJ meme, for juxtaposing these foursomes and giving me another goddam crack plot bunny!) Four sexy, swinging guys (Peter was not all evil back then!) who ruled the school. And one of them is Sirius. My Sirius.
  12. trogdor:
He was a man...I mean, he was a dragon-man...er, maybe he was just a dragon. But he was still TROGDOR! Interests include smiting the Kerrek, burnination, and coming in the NIIIIIIGHT!

Enter your LJ user name, and 10 interests will be selected from your interest list. (It asks you for 12, but then takes only the first 10, so I added the last 2 in manually.)

Franz Ferdinand
As you may already know, I earn my living writing ad copy for the audio taped lectures of a Jewish historian. This week when I was working on the World War I set, I needed to look up the precise date of the assassination of Franz Ferdinand. Imagine my surprise when the google search resulted in images and links related to a rock 'n roll band!

Re: Franz Ferdinand

You must have been quite confused at first!

Y'know, the fact that the band came up before the historical stuff tells me that society is far more interested in rock than in history! (But we already knew that....)

Ah, the challenges of my job! But then, I suppose I'm not as interested as I ought to be either. I've got 3 tapes to finish to make my quota by tomorrow, but here I am, surfing around lj.

Re: Franz Ferdinand
I'm no better! I'm way behind on grad school stuff, and yet here I am...on LJ...again... *sigh*

I think I just work better under pressure...apparently of the EXTREME variety!

Franz Ferdinand ... what a band! They're awesome and I salute you for excellent taste. (They're good live, if you get the chance ;))

literature/reading = love of my life

the marauders - I take the above statement back, these guys are sexy and swinging and I admire your frank love for Sirius.

Oh, don't mention seeing FF live. :( They're playing at my school in a couple of weeks, together with Death Cab. Not only did I miss a chance at getting $35 tickets by like 24 hours, but also I already had tickets to a Clap Your Hands Say Yeah concert for the same night, so I wouldn't have been able to go anyway. I mean, I'm totally psyched about Clap Your Hands, but...it really friggin' sucks that I have to miss the DC/FF (OTP?) concert. I even considered buying scalped tickets for a later DC/FF concert in NY, but decided that I was already pwned enough by the entertainment industry this year. *sniffle*

Hee, thank you for supporting my fangirlyness! It's amazing how literary characters can really change one's life. That makes me sound so insane, but I'm sure you know what I mean.
