Aaaaaand yet another reason that Dan Radcliffe is my hero!

Potter star buys Rowling document

Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe has paid £30,000 at a charity auction for a family tree drawn by author JK Rowling.

Radcliffe, 16, who plays the schoolboy wizard on screen, bought a handwritten history of the family of Sirius Black, his character's godfather.

Rowling donated the document to the sale by Book Aid International, which provides books for schools in Africa.

The actor also successfully bid for handwritten works by writers Iain Banks and Tom Stoppard, totalling £4,680.

Radcliffe's mother Marcia Gresham bid on his behalf at the central London auction.

She said: "This should put paid to anyone who says that Daniel doesn't like reading.

"Daniel hasn't stopped since he read the first Harry Potter book and he loves Iain Banks and Tom Stoppard."

Donated documents

The star bought a short Stoppard play entitled Murder for £3,700 and a humorous piece on writing by Banks for £980.

Book Aid International also donates books to African hospitals, universities and refugee camps.

The charity's director Sara Harrity said: "We raised more than £63,000 - more than we had hoped in our wildest dreams."

Other literary figures to donate works included crime author PD James, children's writer Jacqueline Wilson and actress Joanna Lumley, who published her autobiography in 2004.

Gary Oldman played Sirius Black in the two most recent films in the series, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

Is it just me, or is the remark about Gary Oldman at the end awfully random?! And yes, while Crazy Gary Oldman did technically play Sirius in GoF, it was FireplaceFace!Sirius...which isn't the same at all to me.

Also, am I the only one who detests the one-sentence paragraph?

I was so excited when I read this. I hope he shows it to the fans!

And yes, the one-sentence paragraphs are the worst thing ever. JUST WRITE THE WHOLE DAMN PARAGRAPH, IDIOTS!! *ahem*

If he does, I think I will have to toss off all illusions of decorum and propriety and declare him the center of my new religion.

You mean it hasn't been done yet??

I think there's already one with Sean Biggerstaff... *worships*

Oh, I'm sure it's been done, but I will do it bigger and better than anyone else! I mean, shoot, I've practically memorized his interview with Jonathan Ross on the BBC, having viewed about 87 times. *fangirls intensely*

I volunteer to light the broomstick-shaped candles for you at the next Biggerstaffist gathering. Sean is definitely a British hottie!

Oh! I really teared up a little bit when I read that. That's just wonderful. I truly appreciate actors who love and grow to empathize with their characters. I *love love love* that Daniel loves Sirius so much that he bought it.

Gaaahhh, you are encouraging me to love Dan even more!

Dan...Sirius...Dan loves Sirius...Miss Sophia loves Sirius...Miss Sophia loves Dan...

Awwww... he is such a sweetheart. :)

And erm, yes. That last paragraph was totally random. The journalist should learn not to include everything from a press release into a news article. Heh.
